(More customer reviews)I searched far and wide for a duvet cover that would fit our gigantic bed.It was no mean feat.We have a pillowtop king size mattress on a Mission style sleigh bed, and trying to find a duvet cover that would fit was a task in itself.I was looking for something measuring about 92-96" x 105-110."Otherwise, the duvet would not cover the sides of the mattress.
Size wasn't the only matter.I love color in the bedroom, and there is a dearth of it in American linens, unless you're willing to pay $1,000+ and I am not.I wanted something with a calming shade of green, but also with a bit of exotic flair.I even enlisted a friend in my search.She sent me links to websites that sell absolutely gorgeous products of cotton or silk, embroidered, block prints and much more.That helped me broaden my search until I found this duvet cover and sham set.I did not find it on Amazon, but I bought it through Amazon.
Of course, I also wanted a duvet cover that is machine washable and dryable!Yes, I am very picky.
This set is 100% cotton. I have washed and dried it with no issues.It does require ironing.I inserted Natural Comfort Classic White Goose Down Cal King Feather Comforter.There is a button closure at the foot.The shams are really envelope pillowcases - no fuss there! I think this set does justice to my beautiful wood and cast iron bed, and it certainly pleases my eye.When the weather is warm, I can remove the comforter for a light bed covering.I can also flip the duvet over to the wine-colored side.
