My son is hard on bed linens. His room is done up with a high end comforter (on sale!), and within a few months it looked like he had tried to feed it through a paper shredder. The "guts" of it are still fine and intact, but the outer shell looks like a truck ran over it.

This duvet looked like just the ticket to give an expensive comforter a nice look. I chose this one in particular because my son's room is done in blue, but also because the reverse of this has blue and white pinstripes that go with the Yankees theme in the space.

I tried it out, put a nice Yankees throw pillow on top of the sham, and the bed looks great!

Highly recommend as a cheap way to give a beat up but servicable comforter a new look, and save on the space of storing comforters (it's also washable, and has a nice feel to it.)

Watch for this when it goes on sale. It makes a good buy even better.

Product Description:
Brighten any child's room with the fresh colors and clean, cool feel of Pinzon Kids bedding. This 200-thread-count full/queen duvet cover, measuring 86 by 86 inches with a hidden button closure, features bright blue and white stripes on one side; and a vibrant fish-and-bubbles print on the other. Because this duvet is made of 100 percent cotton, an all-natural fiber, it's both durable and breathable. Percale woven fabrics are crisp yet soft; fibers are tightly woven for smoothness. The blue, green, and white of this duvet coordinate with Pinzon Kids fish or blue stripe sheet sets and shams to create a complete under-the-sea ensemble. Pinzon Kids bedding washes and dries easily in the home machine and is made in Portugal.
Fabric Definition
Percale: Percale woven fabrics provide a clean, crisp, cool feel, a perfect match with bed linens. Percale weaves can be made of any fiber but are usually cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. The fibers are tightly woven in a plain weave, meaning the warp and weft threads cross each other one at a time. This one-over, one-under weave is what makes a fabric Percale. Percale clothing usually runs around 80 square (80 threads by 80 threads), or 160 threads per square inch. Heavy grades in higher counts are used for bed sheeting. Percale sheets are high quality, smooth, and soft, since the fibers comprising the thread are usually first combed (opened and cleaned of impurities) and carded (separated into individual, cleaned fibers). Percale sheets have a thread count of at least 180 threads per inch and commonly run to over 200 threads per inch. Percale sheeting was first made in 1876 by Wamsutta Mills in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Percale fabric is rugged and versatile, with many uses now in clothing, curtains, and bedding.
